This park is situated on the North Shore of Lake Superior. Perhaps best known for its historic lighthouse, this park offers numerous recreational opportunities. Visitors can cart-in their supplies to pristine campsites along Lake Superior. Scenic trails along the lake link up to the spectacular Superior Hiking Trail. Anglers cast their lines for lake trout, salmon, and brown trout. The rocky beach is perfect for skipping stones into Lake Superior.

Fun for even a solo trip such as I did during my SHT hike. The grounds are beautiful and there is a trail to the lake!! The museum inside is worth a look for sure. A couple times an hour they play the movie about all the shipwrecks and why the lighthouse was made!!

I recently went here with my family. We are members of the Minnesota historical society, which is good, because it would not have been worth the price of admission. Granted it was very chilly, so we didn't really want to go outside, but there just isn't much to do there.

Split Rock is iconic for a reason! Spectacularly beautiful and tons of fascinating history. Great gift shop if that's what you're looking for. Lovely natural space too.

It's a good park buts it's almost always busy and you have to pay to be in the lighthouse so you can only see the lighthouse from the shore. If you are looking for photo opportunities this is the park for you with many different things to do and areas to explore it's a wetdream for anyone trying to grow their Instagram following. I do not recommend this park on a Saturday as it is filled with people all in the way and taking pictures. So plan your trip accordingly.

One of my favorite places to go on the North Shore! Fantastic area for the photographer in the family. Huge parking lot, with areas for a picnic. Long trip down the stairs to the shore line......even longer going back up, but plenty of areas where you can stop for a breather and take even more pictures!
