Facilities and Activities

Picnicking/Shelters
The park is 15 acres and a beautiful area for having a picnic, family gathering, or wedding. There is a stone shelter that was built by the CCC in 1934. The shelter can be reserved online through the park reservation system.

Lake Activities
Rice Lake is a 1200 acre lake that provides many activities for the outdoor enthusiast. Any size motor is allowed and boaters like to water ski, jet ski, and fish. The species of fish in Rice Lake include bass, bluegill, walleye, perch, northern, crappie and bullheads. Make sure you check the current length limits and possession limits for any fish caught out of Rice Lake.

Many species of birds inhabitat Rice Lake. There are a variety of song birds and migratory birds. Pelicans are known to make Rice Lake a stopping spot along their route.

Camping
No camping is allowed at Rice Lake State Park.

Rice Lake is located at Lake Mills. Other surrounding towns include Forest City, Joice, Leland and Scarville.

Directions
On Hwy 9 about 5 miles east of Forest City or 11 miles west of Interstate 35 take R74 North. Travel north about 7 miles and turn east onto 425th St. Travel about another mile and turn north onto 235th Ave. Rice Lake State Park is on your right about a mile.
