Elijah Clark State Park

2959 McCormick Highway

This park is located on the western shore of 71,100-acre Clarks Hill Lake, one of the largest lakes in the Southeast.  With its boat ramps and accessible fishing pier, it is especially popular with anglers and boaters.  A sandy swimming beach welcomes visitors to cool off during Georgia summers.  Rental cottages are located on the lake’s edge, and the spacious campground is nestled into the forest.  Tent campers will enjoy extra privacy in the walk-in section.

Elijah Clark State Park is named for a frontiersman and Georgia war hero who led pioneers during the Revolutionary War.  A log cabin replica of the Clark home displays furniture, utensils and tools circa 1780 and is open weekends April through November. Visitors can also view the graves of Clark and his wife Hannah.

Our campsite was great!! We camped in a tent, and had great access to the water and also to the bath house. The bath house was pretty clean, and was well stocked in terms of toilet paper/paper towels. The campground itself was really clean and well kept overall. Staff were really helpful and kind. It is pet friendly, but your dogs must be kept on a leash. My dog had a blast when we went !

Honestly I would live to give it 4 or even 5 stars. The place is beautiful with slot of amenities. The campsites are rather close to each other and I will guarantee you will get lost. If they just renumber the campsites and put up signs to help you find your way I would've given them more then just 3 stars.

This is our first time here. We like it a lot. They gave us a list of events they have like candle making and jr rangers. They have a nice place for kids to play and swim. The staff has been friendly. The park manager told me that starting in the fall they will be doing the reservations differently. As of now, you can reserve your days on their website, but the sites are first come first serve.
