Dodge Ridge Ski Resort is a family-oriented resort with runs designed to match the abilities of everyone from beginners to advanced. Because Dodge Ridge Ski Area is the closest Sierra skiing and snowboarding facility to the San Francisco Bay Area, the resort draws day users as well as those staying overnight in the mountains.Dodge Ridge first opened in 1951 and has been a favorite destination for families for 60 years.
Dodge Ridge Ski Area has a base elevation of 6,600 feet and a summit elevation of 8,200 feet, giving it a vertical drop of 1, 600 feet. The ski and snowboard resort covers an area of 832 acres with 20% designated for beginners, 40% for intermediate runs, and 40% for advanced runs. It also has three free-style terrain parks. Overall, there are 62 different runs. The longest run, Stagecoach, is 2 miles long. Dodge Ridge's 12 lifts include 1 quad, 2 triples, 5 doubles, and 4 surface lifts. Typically the resort is open from December through April for skiing and snowboarding.
