Mission Statement:

The mission of the Town of Camden Parks and Recreation Department is to enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors through recreational opportunities, community events, and stewardship of the town's public lands.

About the Snow Bowl:

The Camden Snow Bowl is a community owned ski and recreation area. From the summit of 1300' Ragged Mountain, home to the Snow Bowl's trails, skiers and riders have an incredible view of the Atlantic Ocean. It is a view quite unlike any other in the east. The Camden Snow Bowl really is "where the mountains meet the sea". In addition to alpine skiing and snowboarding, there are many other winter activities available at the Snow Bowl. A snow tubing slope provides fun for all family members, ice skating on Hosmer pond and a thrilling 400' toboggan chute. The National Toboggan Championships are held here the first weekend of February. There is also a cross country ski and snowshoeing trail available. Four lifts serve 850' of vertical. One chairlift, two T-Bars and a surface lift in the beginner area service the ten trails and a terrain park. All trails lead back to a classic A-frame lodge where you will find all services. The Camden Snow Bowl has a ski and snowboard school, full rental shop, an active youth racing program and a fully qualified ski patrol. Coastal Maine sees its share of big winter storms, but we have a snowmaking system that covers 45% of our area to ensure plenty of skiing and riding. Most trails are groomed daily.

A great place to go experience the Maine outdoors. Hike up and you can start seeing coastal views halfway. AMAZING mountain bike trails, unfortunately the town of camden doesn't want a bikepark. But all in all a great place

Good mountain biking! Check with sidecountry sports for trail conditions! A little of everything, with a strong focus on techy non-flowy classic New England rocks, roots, twists, turns, and tight trees. Ocean view from the top. Not the best signage. Best spot in mid-coast for mountain biking.

My family had a wonderful day of skiing on Sat...the last day that the mountain was open for the season. We have an Autistic daughter who does not ski, so we didn't know how the day would work for making it a family event. My husband and I approached the ticket counter, and keeping my fingers crossed, I asked "Would it be possible for my husband and I to share a ticket? We have an autistic daughter who is 14 and does not ski and we also have two younger children who do ski. Would it be possible for my husband and I to share a ticket so that we can enjoy our children today?" The women behind the counter was so nice! She said "normally we don't do that, but since today is the last, I will allow it". She gave me a necklace to put the ticket on so that it would be easy to transfer the ticket. I was so grateful that I was in tears. My husband and I were able to spend some time with each child...I skied first and my husband hung out with our oldest daughter, and then we switched and I took our oldest snowshoeing. Thank you Camden for making our day so special. If I may now make a request? As a parent of an autistic daughter, I know the struggles that we (our family) deal with on a daily bases. Things like this would be GREAT, if they were something that the mountain COULD do on a regular bases. It doesn't cost you anything and you don't loose any money. My husband and I could not be on the mountain at the same time, so no extra bodies would be taking up space. However the idea that we could split our time and each spend time on the mountain while the other took care of our autistic daughter means the world to us. So I hope you see how important these little suggestions means to the autistic families in the world. Thank you :)
